How do you maintain an active lifestyle?

Being able to maintain an active life is all about integrating physical activity into everyday routine. Those how know me know I do not exactly know how to maintain an active lifestyle especially at the moment. Living a healthier lifestyle has always been my aim but unfortunately for me, I love sweet things. I try to go to the gym at least three times but I have missed the last month. It is crazy to think how my life just seems to be spiraling as we close the year. I am strong believer in implementing plans now than in the…

Top 6 Stay-Healthy Tips During the Holidays

The holidays area good time to reunite and celebrate with our loved ones. On the other hand, others also favor this time to flee to unfamiliar climes and get a break from everyday routine. Yet, although the holiday season offers moments for merriment and festivity, it also has its downside in terms of keeping healthy habits. {Guest Post} 7 lessons learned after running half marathon.

Regular readers of The Myrabev Life know that my sister and I run the Oxford Half Marathon recently. We have both learnt a lot about our capabilities, I for one know how much my body is capable of. I did not train for this half marathon like my sister did and I am not much of a runner. But I did went ahead and participated and have been amazed at what I can do. Now I am imagining how much better it would have been had I prepared for it both physically and mentally. I am not the only one…

Lucy’s New Training Regime

Last Sunday {October 8, 2017}, my sister and I took up running the Oxford Half Marathon. This was the first time for both of us but as you know my sister trains regularly and runs too. The 13.1 miles took me under 4 hours to complete, I walked and jogged it all whilst my sister run it in under 2 hours. I won’t lie, it was blooming hard race to partake in because I had NO training and NO breakfast. Yes, it was very silly of me to participate when I wasn’t ready but somehow I knew I could do…

Lucy’s Fitness Journey {Part 2}

Yesterday I shared with you aspects of my training, whats involved and the types of sessions we do. Today I will focus on food, specially what I have excluded from my diet and what I eat more of. I will also cover something very important; the discipline and mental well-being during this fitness journey. FOOD I don’t want to use the word diet because am not on a diet. I’ve just switched from processed food to earth grown foods. I try as much as I possibly  can to only consume earth grown nutrients. Though I have a slight challenge of being…

HEALTH & EXERCISE MONTHLY UPDATE ~ SEVEN

So December is almost over and I would be lying if I say I had been: hitting the gym (couch potato), eating healthily (junk food overload) and been busy burning the calories (lazier than usual) but that would be lying and we don’t tolerate that here. This month I am sharing the seventh post in the Health & Exercise monthly update, as most of you know I am anti-resolutions since I fail them year on year so I will not say I will join the gym or start exercising again, this will happen at its own accord in time. Last…

HEALTH & EXERCISE MONTHLY UPDATE ~ SIX

Hi there and welcome to my Health and Exercise Monthly update, though I think I should change the name to …Quarterly or six monthly update because my last update was around August time and my last actual exercise was around June time. Life has a funny way of throwing curve balls which sometimes we can not seem to catch no matter what we try. As mentioned has not really done any exercise so my weight updates are fairly the same though I may have put on a pound or two. One major change for me has the levels of stress…
