Spring Skincare Routine – All Skin Types

Spring is in the air and though it doesn’t look it, its time to spruce up your Spring Skincare Routine. For many years I have practised good skincare and it shows in how healthy my skin looks. Every season, I review my skincare contents and get rid of anything that is out of date and not season friendly. Simple things like mascaras should be replaced every 3-6 months to avoid bacterial build-up.

Spring is often the time when I start looking to buy new face products especially eye creams so it’s important I find the best anti-ageing eye creams. Over the winter months, our skin is exposed to harsh weather causing damage and stripping the skin of its nutrients. When spring comes around, its the perfect time to start adding back the lost moisture and nutrients.

Spring Skincare Routine

In this article, my aim is to share my Spring Skincare routine and some of my fall back products. Remember, during spring, you want moisture and hydration for the skin.

Spring Skincare Routine

Whilst everyone’s skin is different and therefore requires different products to take care of it, for spring, every skin type needs 3 things. Hydration, Moisturising and UV protection, these three things are part of the Spring Skincare Routine. So, how do we hydrate the skin, moisturise it and protect it from UV light?

Cleansing

Cleansing is an important step in any skincare routine, during spring you want products that don’t strip away your natural skin oils. Use cleansers that are free from harsh chemicals, only use those with pure plant extracts lifts off debris.

Toning

Toners are effective ways of clearing up any impurities that the cleanser may have missed. It helps to open up the pores, soothes the skin and is refreshing giving you skin that clear complexion.

Moisturising

During Spring, your skin excretes a lot of oil and moisture, it is, therefore, important to use a moisturizer that is hydrating. When we shower in the morning, the hot water strips the skin of these oils, which is why it is important to always moisturize after a shower.

SPF

These days most moisturisers have SPF in them to protect the skin from UV light damage. However, for those products with no SPF protection, there are many SPF skin products that can be used to protect your skin.

Having a good skincare routine is only half the battle when it comes to improving your skin. We recommend you drink more water daily, have an active lifestyle and don’t use wipes to cleanse your face.
