12 Months of Happiness – August 2017

August 2017, how did you manage to creep us on me so fast? I am truly in shock because the year is almost over in under 5 months. Over 9 months ago I shared my last  12 months of happiness, life from then seems to have just taken off. So much has happened and I didn’t really have the time to sit down and write it all. But today I am gonna do something about it, I will share the last 9 months of happiness.

The idea behind 12 months of Happiness is to share the small joys we experience every month. Each month it’s encouraged to look at the good that has happened so we focus less on the bad. It’s never easy especially when it seems life has a grudge against you. But we all have our own inner strength and call upon that to move forward.

Nine months of 12 Months of Happiness

As it’s been 9 months since I last shared 12 months of Happiness I will do a recap of some awesome happenings. I must reiterate that sharing this post is in no way showing off but sharing both the small and big joys in life.

12 months of happiness

November 2016

This was an incredible month for me, not only did I complete my #take12trips challenge but I got to review a mattress. Can you imagine how I felt when that email popped into my inbox? I was totally shocked but too excited too. I remember it like it was yesterday and still celebrate to this day.

December 2016

Whilst I was excited to have completed my travel challenge I was excited to work on another. I decided to focus on completing the 30 countries before 30 travel challenge. This was one of the most challenging but fun travel challenge I have ever done, excited for the next milestone.

January 2017

I am a strong believer in setting monthly achievable goals than resolutions and that’s exactly what I did. Part of the goals was to continue to travel, save money for emergencies and for a mortgage. I was able to also tick off an item from my bucket list, attending a concert. We went to Birmingham and saw Two Door Cinema, they are a lovely band which my sister loves.

February 2017

A friend who was station in Japan at the time came to visit me in Oxford and London. We opted to also add in a quick getaway to Budapest and spent 4 hours in the thermal baths. The original plan was to explore Budapest but we took a night cruise and used the day to just enjoy the spa.

March 2017

The same said friend stayed on until March where we traveled to Cyprus with 6 other girls. I learnt a valuable lesson, I don’t do well traveling in groups solo is my forte. Traveling is something I treasure and have certain rules that I follow. I prefer to travel alone or with a companion and agree on what we want to do.

April 2017

Another incredible month, so much happened in such a short space of time. I got to attend my good friend’s wedding in Zambia and rekindle and old friendship too. I managed to spend some quality time with my extended family and helped where I could.

May 2017

Three incredibly awesome things happened during this month. I traveled last minute to Paris for work, then got an invite to review a restaurant and bought a car. I felt like I was dreaming, reviewing a posh restaurant in Harrods {London} I thought this was only for HUGE bloggers. Little old me was chosen, then when I bought a car after months and months of waiting.

June 2017

Traveled to Bali and experienced the most terrifying thing ever, riding an elephant and swinging off the edge of the world. Another awesome thing to happen is we received another mattress to review which I had sent to my parents. I still have the one I received in November 2016 and still love it to this date.

July 2017

Three incredible events happened, I started dating again, turned 30 and completed my 30 countries before 30 challenge. On top of that, my sister and I got to visit and explore Shakespeare’s Globe in London thanks to 365 Tickets.

August 2017

We are already half-way through the month and incredible things have happened. I was invited to review Chi Kitchen London, took my sister along as a belated birthday treat. Then I am traveling to Paris today for a wedding over the weekend.

And there you have it, recap of the last 9 months hopefully I will keep up with the monthly updates.
